While unpacking over the last two weeks I discovered a cache of postcards from our travels, which invoked a great pause in our progress while we armchair traveled, guessing at the artwork or sculpture in the photos before turning the card over. With notable exceptions, we were hard pressed to tell the Wurzburg Residence apart from Versailles.

I doubt we will be more successful with our photos of the Albertina’s Hapsburg Staterooms from Friday’s visit, but it was sheer delight just to be able to take them.

There is much more to the Albertina to enjoy in addition to the Staterooms, including an impressive collection of painting and photography plus a modern art collection that was very, very different from that of the mumok. We came for Dürer’s paintings, and thought we’d share two of our favorites with you.
