The day following Tony’s return from Pakistan we turned ourselves over to the Vienna Woods. Four and five days in beautiful and green; and crowded and dusty Pakistan was extraordinary, but we were craving Austrian fresh air. Or perhaps we just did not want to deal with our exploded suitcases.

Still a little loopy from jet lag, we went light with a simple 4km wander down from Kahlenberg. Not much by way of scenery yet save for some flowers and Bärlauch pickers, but that was okay.

Maybe Purple Buttercups?

European Plum Blossoms.

Lunch was in Grinzing, at a tourist-y place because, aren’t they all thanks to Rick Steves? You can picture a slightly overpriced Backhendlsalat at a sunny outdoor table.

Good to be home.
